Playdate Gurgaon

I recently had a playdate at home, for few of the kids from Myra’s preschool class. I thought the kids would also enjoy meeting baby Avu. Which they did, throughly. It’s amazing how transfixed these little kids get when they small babies. Myra proudly introduced ‘baby sister avika’ to everyone and everyone wanted to stare, touch, kiss and hold Avu. Avika though, happily slept through all of this!! The kids also ran around the house crazy and at one point screamed in happiness for no reason, real loud. Then one of them lied down on the floor and all of them followed suit.. you get the idea.. Was a great fun and loud evening!! :)

The look –
Myra’s cool pants with fish and blue full sleeves kurta top are both from – the shop

Myra and Liya

Myra’s first friend ever is Liya. She has played with kids before but in every sense Liya is her first ‘friend’. She hangs out with her, plays and hugs her. They jump and dance and act all silly together. :)

Wills Fashion Week 2014

Pero

Pero (photo credit – pero)

5 weeks after Avika’s birth this was my first outing. Last year I was more free, more spirited.. had left Myra home with my folks and spent long hours at shows and all the designer stalls, and mind you, I do it very methodically!! This year was different. I was still going through all my pains and aches and was recovering from a bad allergy that caused a severe rash on my face.

Nevertheless it was fun and I attended a show for Pero. By Aneeth Arora. I really like their stuff – It plays to my weakness – lovely cottons and muslins… I have really grown to admire this brand in the last year or so, since I have discovered it. So I really really wanted to make it. And it was the opening show and V wasn’t gonna come to this with me. He has a whole round of shows to attend himself. So I took my lovely friend Kanika along. :)
Apart from this, there was more action on the fashion scene, pics will come soon.

I wore –
Jumpsuit & T-shirt – Zara
Shoes – Saint G.
Bag – Dissona

Rent in Gurgaon

I had found her contact online and called her from Dubai, before moving here to gurgaon. Chewed her brains on all my questions and concerns and she patiently listened and answered. I had never met, leave aside spoken to, a property dealer/ real estate consultant  who you could actually talk to. Mostly it’s all haggling, waiting for the keys, misunderstanding, mis-quoting, all sorts of lies and waiting, and drama. So she sounded too good to be true. I think i even told her ‘ you sound sort of cool’!!

Then we moved here and met her. We liked her instantly as our ‘broker’. She has an amazing, likeable personality. Some very cool Tattoos. Easy to talk to and understands you well. SPEAKS ENGLISH. 😀 yes, a rental property dealer in gurgaon who speaks english!!! Anyways, so she helped us find this nice place we currently live in. Since then we have been friends and we like her a little more now. I would highly recommend her for all your property needs in Gurgaon.

Here’s Jugnu Grewal Almeida ( broker, property dealer, real estate consultant of Gurgaon) , holding little Avika, when she came to meet her for the first time.

Nose piercing Gurgaon

So I got my nose pierced. Something I wanted to do for a very long time..  and was petrified to do it. I am very sensitive to pain and things like tattoos and piercings become a big deal to get done. My research started with asking around some people that I know and then looking online for tattoo and piercing in gurgaon or delhi. I called a few places, looked for online reviews – which there weren’t many of, and settled (much by way of following my intuition) for Funky Monkey Tattoo Studio, at DLF city centre, Gurgaon.

We arrived at this funky looking studio which to my comfort, was playing loud trance / house mix sort of music. Great, I thought, almost exactly like I’m in thailand somewhere!! (minus the thailand stuff – like vodkas with redbull in buckets!!) :)

It wasn’t fuss free and the guys seemed to be very amused by my many antics.
I used a yellow colour stone set in sterling silver for the piercing. They don’t use the gun, instead they do it directly with the stud. It’s safer that way, they say.
I didn’t die of pain, though it did hurt a bit. They asked me to keep it dry and see them after 10-15 days if i want to change into a new nose stud. So far so good. I would rate the service great and the place seemed clean and nice. In the end, I’m just glad I got it done! :) Although when I pointed it out to a friend, she said ‘oh, but didn’t you always have one!?’ 😀
