Independence Day 2014

We braved the heat and headed to the promised land where apparently was some good food. It was a lazy weekend morning and we all woke up pretty late from our slumber. By the time we went down the flag hoisting was done. So we pretty much reached at the lunch part – which was actually really really yummy. They had a simple spread of chole-bhature, samosas, coffee and jalebis. And of course, we caught up with our lovely Belaire friends and got some nice pics of lil M in a salwar kameez. She was lil under the weather as recovering from a viral but she looked so lovely! :)

2nd B’day Party for M

We were very excited for M’s B’Day party. All geared up with ideas on what to do and how we wanted to do it. :) Quite a few people and kids we wanted to have over for the party, were travelling, but it still promised to be one good evening.
On the day though, we found ourselves pretty much.. very unorganised. The cook we had arranged for, to come and make Chinese food – was very very late and arrived only at 2:30 pm to disappear again at 6 pm for two hrs. Not that I was home to completely soak in the madness. We were in Delhi doing some last minute errands and picking up the cake. Or let me put it this way – since we had to be in delhi anyways to pick the cake, we also went to saket mall to see the first day of the sales. Fair enough. I think.

For the cake – We wanted a very simple, classy one. I always shy away from big productions of any cartoon stuff if I ever can (we will see how long I can sustain that). So I found a design I loved and rang up my friend Bijay Thapa who runs ‘Sugar Daddy Bakes’. We had an exciting conversation about the design of the cake (he totally is a design freak too) and we decided on a Orange and Chocolate cake. Orange for me, Choc for V. Myra doesn’t care – she loves cake. period. :) The cake was every bit as delicious and more as I had hoped it would be. Coz that would have been awkward – if it wasn’t..  you know coz Bijay is a friend and all.. :) Anyways, so it was yummy!!!! And everyone loved it and we loved it and we had the left overs for next two days. Find him here and order lots –

The party was also something V looked fwd a lot too –  coz it was going to be *ahem ahem* much like another party at home. And that’s always such a blast. Myra was in an amazing mood and thoroughly enjoyed herself. :) She wore a simple black dress from Next. And somehow kept a beautiful big rose on her head and looked just so gorgeous. I totally love her soooooo much. Ah, it hurts. :) She also happily sang ‘happy birthday’!!

28th June, 2014

new collage copy 128th June – Myra’s 2nd B’day. We decided to spend the whole weekend in celebration. On the eve of her Birthday, we got ready with all the supplies and while our lil monkey slept soundly, we decorated her room with balloons and frills.

In the morning, she woke up happy and sooo excited seeing the balloons and loved the big ‘2’ balloon and ran around the whole house saying ‘2 2 2 2’!! Since we had planned her party for next weekend after that, this day was just for us. We wanted to spend it only with Myra. We wanted to do all her fav things – play with balloons, sing and dance around, and go the mall – get her a mall car and walk around. She loves going into all kinds of shops! We went for lunch to Amici, at the saket mall. M loves the tofu and pizza there. Actually, honestly it’s my fav pizza in India yet. :) Was such a lovely day!!!

Myra at her 2nd B’day –

Loves – balloons,  mickey mouse, sitting in toy cars, tofu, cheese, shoes, ring-ringa roses, jumping, goofing around with Appa, iPad

Dislikes – Food in general, loud noises, school (she hates it!! – more on that later) :)

Myra’s night suit – Zara Home, t-shirt – Zara kids,  Tu-tu – H&M

Myra’s 2nd B’day preps

Myra’s second B’day – How time flies!!! These two years with Myra in our lives have been truly magical. She’s such a delightful lil girl. She has this amazing sense of humour already.
This year we decided to have a lil party for her at home. I hope we are able to do the ‘home party’ stuff for as long as we can… Gurgaon, Delhi.. has a big trend of hosting parties outside at venues etc… which are great fun too, and so much easier to organise. But I love the lil charm of a house party. Always have, always will.
We looked around at party shops in Gurgaon to get the supplies and the best one we like is – Wanna Party – Gurgaon phase 4.  you can check out their fb page here –

Some fun pics while we shopped for fun stuff and later of a nice dinner  at  56 Ristorante Italiano, Gurgaon, Dlf Phase 5. A stone’s throw away from our place. The ambience is nice, it reminded me of Dubai, as if I was sitting some place downtown.. The food was nice, above average. One could easily go a few times.. Myra had fun arranging the stones around! :)
