Went for the AIFW last night. Held at Pragati Maidan and boasting of the top names from the fashion world, it’s a treat to go when I can get out. My mom’s here, so all thanks to her!! We attended JJ Valaya’s show, with the theme – ‘Bolshoi Bazaar’. It was a beautiful play of Indian embroidery and gorgeous prints like Ikat with a hint of Russia. While the set and music was mesmerising, the hair was dramatic and the clothes were beautiful lines, textiles and fur. I specially loved the Men’s line. Here’s a look –
The Bolshoi Bazaar
My favourite piece from the show, wish he had indulged us more with this print!
Bolshoi Bazar & Kindle
Before the show we got a peek into the Harper’s Bazaar exhibit showcasing their reinvention of Khadi, in collaboration with the top designers of the country. If you find yourself at AIFW 2015 – make sure you find this stall because it’s beautifully done and you will find yourself admiring creations in Khadi, for a long time. And wanting almost each one of them!
With the very talented, very sweet and very quirky Varun Rana of Harper’s Bazar India.
Harper’s Bazaar stall – a must check out. They have reinvented khadi and trust me, it’s gorgeous!!
Recently Delhi saw the most happening design event in the city – the India Design ID 2015.
Being a design crazy person, I loved every bit of it. There were new brands and concepts that I discovered, interesting people we met and the general vibe of the place was so fun and amazing. There was great food to – from Guppy to burgers from a van. And events and parties around the event which, we were able to go to (thanks to the kids behaving quite well in general and keeping their sleep schedule) and had a blast! This was also a start tho a very fun, tiring and hectic 2 weeks, as we left for Chennai soon after.
Here’s what I was upto at the India Design ID 2015…
